Role-Based Access

Semantics supports the following access roles:

• Reader: Can view all data.
• Editor: Can view all data and edit Things.
• Admin: Can view and edit all data.

Note that some functionalities may be limited based on your assigned role.

Key Functionalities

Semantics offers the following core functionalities:

• View, create, update, and delete general configuration entities:
  • Thing Types
  • Profiles, including Metrics and Attributes
  • Relation Types
  • Data Providers
• View, create, update, and delete Systems, including:
  • General metadata
  • Allowed Thing Types
  • Allowed Feature Types
  • Allowed Profiles
  • Allowed Relation Types
  • Allowed Data Providers
  • Identifiers
• View Things based on their relations.
• Create, update, and delete Things, including:
  • General metadata
  • Identification
  • Relationships
  • Profiles
  • Attributes
  • Metrics
• View Thing Metric data previews.
• Export Thing Metrics.

Setting up Semantics

1. Set up general configuration:

   • Use the Configuration page to define general configurations.

2. Create System:

   • See the Create new System section to create and configure the System and the allowed Configuration entities.

3. Create Things:

   • See the Opening Asset Hierarchy section to open the Asset Hierarchy data application.
   • See the Create new Thing section to create a Thing.

4. Configure Thing:

   • See the Edit Existing Thing section to set up Identification, Relationships, and Profiles.
   • See the Thing Attributes Overview section to configure Thing-related Attributes.
   • See the Thing Metrics Overview section to configure Thing-related Metrics.
